People We Link To

We're committed to excellent products and ethical businesses here at Serpentine Hair, and we love to get the word out whenever there are companies that share our vision. Click around, and we think you may discover some wonderful new places in cyberspace to visit and enjoy!

Web Design/Multimedia Goddess:
Digital Media Services is an awesome multimedia company based in Central NY. They can assist you in a plethora of ways to help support your online identity. Did I mention that Terri Goff of DMS is the brains behind this site? This girl pulled us out of a bind at the last minute, and she does *beautiful* website work, as her portfolio can attest! So if you're looking for a multi-talented web diva who can do it all in lightning quick time while walking on water, look no further!

Bath & Body
Villainess is to the body what Serpentine Hair is to follicles. Brooke makes wonderful, cruelty-free and sulfate-free soaps, scrubs, lotions, and other assorted swag that rocks our socks, so we definitely recommend checking out her site! I've personally been giving Villainess products as gifts to people for years, and once you try these products, it's impossible to think of going back to regular commercial soaps. (Click around; you'll see a few Villainess references throughout our site!)

Cosmetics

Love mineral makeup, but hate the shiny-face effects and high prices of the popular brands? Check out Everyday Minerals; their products come in both matte and semi-matte varieties, are VERY reasonably priced, and are great for sensitive skin. (It barely feels like you're wearing makeup at all!)

Hair Coloring
Henna King offers gorgeous hair dyes in all sorts of colors that won't damage your hair shaft. We like 'em! Not only do they carry their hair dyes in your favorite shades found in nature, but they also have a spectrum of wild and decidedly unnatural shades to jazz up your tresses, as well! Great stuff!

Fellow Fabulous Foodies
Sweet Avenue Bake Shop is run by the fabulous Danielle, who makes equally delightful cookies, cupcakes, and other baked goods with a focus on quality ingredients and a cruelty-free work ethic. Sweet Avenue makes excellent stuff to sate your sweet tooth for any occasion, and is something you can feel great about supporting!

Good Causes
We believe in giving people a hand up when they need it, and Kiva.org is one such organization that does just that! Microfinance/microcredit is one of the best ways to assist the poorest regions of the developing world by helping families get on their feet, and the cool thing about Kiva is that instead of donating to some faceless entity that you blindly trust to do something good with your donation, Kiva lets you pick the enterprise/person you want to support! One of the worthiest charities we've ever come across.

(And if you'd like to further help out working people in the developing world, check out some of the cool fair-trade goods sold at The Hunger Site from around the world. You can also click their charitable donation button every day for free, if you're stretched a bit thin this paycheck!)

***Special thanks also go out to Nettleton Hollow for allowing us to use/alter the kick-ass photographs from their site that we use on our labels, and to Jeremy Boston for designing our conditioning oil labels, and to Lucy for her work in designing the label and logo for the site using said photographs. Shout-outs also go out to Lizzy, Terri, and the rest of the crew on LJ and in real life that gave us feedback on our products and elected to be our guinea pigs when we were just starting out. Thanks so much to all of you! Couldn't have done it without your love and support!
